Toplink's 32 Bit PCI bus 100Base-TX Ethernet adapter is a high performance 100Mbps adapter based on this advanced platform. It delivers faster CPU throughput that eliminates I/O bottlenecks, making it far superior to the ISA, EISA, MC bus architectures. This adapter provides dual-speed support for both 10Mbps and 100mbps data rates with UTP-CAT5 or STP cable. Data rate is selectable by software, and supported by a full range of drivers for commonly used network operating systems.

What is 100Base-TX LAN ?

• 100Mbps CSMA/CD network technology.
• Star topology similar to a 10Base-T Ethernet network.
• Supports STP cables ( same as 10Base-T network ), but requires 2 pairs Category 5 cables for reach connection link.
• Requires 100TX hubs as central devices to which all end devices connect. Each hub supports cascade function for expanding the network.
• Supports message-frame compatibility with Ethernet / IEEE802.3 frames. You're existing network operating system ( except network driver ) and applications can remain unchanged.
